- Indonesia’s ferrous scrap imports stood at 79,051 t in May’24, up by 42% as compared to 55,830 t in Apr’24.
- Meanwhile, on a y-o-y basis, imports decreased by 18% compared to 96,901 t in May’23.
- During Jan-May 2024, the total scrap import stood at 368,805 t, witnessed a 13% drop y-o-y.
- Singapore emerged as the leading exporter at 24,801 t followed by Hong Kong and Australia at 24,242 t and 18,910 t, respectively.
