Domestic supply of iron ore from Odisha is hit after Shah commission reached Odisha last week to investigate illegal mining issue in the state.

Sources tell that no fresh permissions have been granted for last 10 days after Shah commission looked to verify old records.Although stocks which had been granted permission before where allowed to transport it to their respective destination.

Till now 9 mines have been under scanner including big miner like KN Ram. With state government framing new guidelines for renewal, it is sure that lot other mines will be under the trap.

There is no immediate affect seen on sponge prices across India, but it makes sure that prices likely to keep stable in short term on supply concerns.
