South African iron ore exports drop 2% y-o-y in Jan-Jun’24

South Africa’s iron ore exports decreased by 2% y-o-y to 29.60 mnt in H1CY’24 compared to 28.93 mnt in the year-ago period, as per vessel line-up data maintained by BigMint.
China was the largest importer with 16.17 mnt followed by The Netherlands with 3.39 mnt.
Kumba mines was the leading exporter at 20.23 mnt (increase of 15% m-o-m) followed by Assmang at 3.49 mnt.
