China: Iron ore spot prices rise by $1/t d-o-d

Iron ore fines (Fe 62%) spot prices increased by $0.95/t d-o-d to $106.70/t CFR China on 28 Jun’24 driven by an uptick in trading activity. According to reports, the recent decline in steel mills’ profits has caused a shift in preference from high-low grade blends to medium grade fines. Although, spot prices have seen a slight recovery, port inventories are growing.
