China’s ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry achieved a revenue of RMB 3,289.12 billion ($453 bn) from Jan-May’24, reflecting decline of 3.3% y-o-y as compared to the previous year. The operating cost for this period was RMB 3,191.52 ($439 bn), representing y-o-y decrease of 2.9%. Despite the decrease in costs, the industry incurred a loss of RMB 12.72 billion ($2 bn).
