Global seaborne metallurgical coke export volumes decreased around 5% y-o-y to 27 million tonnes (mnt) in 2023 from around 28.5 mnt in 2022, as per provisional data available with BigMint. Global crude steel production, according to the World Steel Association (WSA), increased by a meagre 0.11% y-o-y in 2023 to 1.892 billion tonnes (bnt), with China accounting for roughly 54%.
