Shaanxi Coal Industry Co., Ltd. (Shaanxi Coal) saw its coal production reach 15.33 million tonnes in May, higher by 5.05% on year and 5.7% from April, the new release from the Shanghai-listed firm shows.
Last month, the sales of coal produced by the company’s self-mining operations also climbed by 5.08% on year to reach 15.2 million tonnes, rising by 5.3% compared with April, according to the report.
The firm’s coal output over January-May totaled 71.28 million tonnes, logging a mild rise of 2.32% on a yearly basis. Of that, 70.55 million tonnes were sold during the same period, up by 2.08% on year.
Shaanxi Coal, owned by Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group, possesses recoverable coal reserves of 12.56 billion tonnes as of end-2020, with over 90% of its coal resources in Shaanbei and Binhuang mining areas in Northwest China’s Shaanxi province.
The coal firm mainly produces high-calorific-value coals with low ash, sulfur and phosphorus content, high-quality coal grades that could be used for producing power, chemical and coke products, Mysteel Global learns from its website.
