China’s ferrous scrap imports totalled 17,892 t in Apr’24, up 14% from 15,631 t reported in Mar. However, on an annual basis, imports registered a 33% decline as against 26,587 t in Apr’23. Japan remained the leading exporter at 8,638 t followed by South Korea and Malaysia at 3,780 t and 1,550 t, respectively. Cumulative imports in Jan-Apr’24, stood at 63,715 t, down 29% against 89,659 t in the year-ago period.
