In Mar’24, ferrous scrap exports from the US totalled 1.12 mnt, marking an 8% decline from the 1.22 mnt recorded in Feb’24. In Mar’24’s exports, Turkiye remained the top importer at 0.26 mnt (23% of the total exports). Mexico slid to the second-highest importer with 0.19 mnt, followed by Bangladesh (0.16 mnt) and Taiwan (0.11 mnt). On a y-o-y basis, the export volume witnessed a 22% drop as compared to 1.44 mnt in Mar’23.
