Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) conducted an auction for 2,500 t (60 kg and 52 kg, full length) of commercial rails on 11 May’24 from Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) in Chhattisgarh. Buyers booked around 2,000 t of 60 kg rails at an average price of INR 43,100/t exw, bids increased by around INR 1,950/t from previous auction conducted on 20 April. Meanwhile, 200 t of 52 kg rails out of 500 t were booked at INR 71,500/t exw.
