Bhubaneswar: The government of Odisha has stopped sale and dispatch of iron ore from Serajuddin’s Balda iron ore mines for allegedly producing less than the fixed limit. The Deputy Director of mines of Joda mining circle has issued an order regarding this on Thursday.
Serajuddin Mines has EC limit of 15.15 MnT pa. In FY 16 (till Dec’15) the miners’ iron ore production stood at 7.88 MnT. Serajuddin Mines in month of Dec’15 produced 348,000 MT iron ore which is down by 8% compare to M-o-M production.
SteelMint tried reaching to Mines official but couldn’t receive any comment. As per market sources iron ore dispatches were on till yesterday (28 Jan’16). However market sources shared that dispatch may resume at the earliest but new permission may not be granted unless the mines increase its production in accordance with the granted EC limit.
