Hyundai Steel plant in Pohang will be shut down for 24 days in total, starting mid-May. The electric furnaces will be shut down due to lower-than-expected product demand. Rolling equipment will also see closures, with section steel plants specifically being closed for more days than they operate. The company is being forced to take these measures to balance supply and demand.
