BigMint’s weekly price assessment highlighted a significant increase in sponge iron export offers, with a rise of $9/t. This uptick is supported by varying prices in domestic sponge iron across India. Leading prices for exports have risen to $412/t CPT Raxaul for FeM 80% (70:30 mix) destined for Nepal, and to $415/t CPT Benapole for Bangladesh. Approximately 5,000 t of sponge iron sold to Nepal and about 9,000 t directed towards Bangladesh.
