Anthracite coal market in India continues to exhibit the sluggish sentiments.
Import offers have been reported to remain stable at USD 92-93/MT, CFR India.
Lackluster demand has been prevailing in the country’s anthracite coal market mainly due to prevalence of cheap alternate fuels. Prices of coke and other forms of coal have receded remarkably in both domestic as well as international markets, making almost no sense in opting for anthracite coal.
During Jan’16, no import consignment has landed at any Indian port as of 18 Jan’16, according to SteelMint research.
