- China’s steel billet imports decreased by 63% m-o-m to 109,303 t in Mar’24 compared to 293,620 t in Feb’24, as per Customs data maintained with ‘BigMint’.
- Russia emerged as the major exporter with 91,596 t followed by Japan with 17,503 t.
- However, cumulative import volumes (Jan-Mar’24) increased by 15% y-o-y to 637,652 t as compared to 552,636 t in the year-ago period.
