Domestic Iron Ore Prices for Jan’16

Odisha: Odisha merchant miners have kept iron ore prices unchanged. Bookings for lump have been descent however fines booking has remained poor over less demand.

Chhattisgarh: India’s single largest iron ore miner-National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has rolled over prices for Jan’16.

Karnataka: In the e-auctions conducted till 11 Jan’16, iron ore prices are as follows:

NMDC: Bid prices for lump (Fe 63.1) was at INR 1,445/MT and those for fines (Fe 62.3) stood at INR 1,195/MT

Private miners: Bid prices for lump (Fe 59.6) stood at INR 1,275/MT and for fines (Fe 60.6) was at INR 1,060/MT. Karnataka e-auction prices (basic) and grade are weighted average

Goa: No iron ore e-auctions in Goa have been conducted so far in Jan’16. The last e-auction was conducted on 24 Dec’15 in which base price for all offered material type and grade was fixed at INR 500/MT. Majority of the allotted lots fetched flat bids except a single lot containing fines (Fe 64%) situated at Codli mines which received bids at INR 630/MT.
