Central govt. urges Odisha govt. to expedite more iron ore block auctions
Union mines secretary Mr. Balvinder Kumar via letter to the Odisha state govt. has urged to speed up the process of iron ore mine block auction. Earlier Odisha was to put 12 iron ore mining blocks in the 1st phase of e-auction but later the state govt. had proposed to auction two mines Jhunka-Patriposi block and Ghoraburahani-Sagasahi East in the first phase.
While the required documents for e-auction of the Ghoraburahani-Sagasahi East iron ore block was approved by the Centre, the Jhunka-Patriposi block, which is at the G3 exploration stage, is yet to get central clearance. Thus so far only single mining block namely Ghoraburahani-Sagasahi block has been put for auction so far. Thus union govt. has urged to speed up the process.
