Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang increased by INR 500/t d-o-d on 5 Apr’24. HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 35,000/t exy. The demand and prices of semi-finished and finished steel rose in yesterday’s trading session in the region, accompanied by active buying inquiries for scrap by the IF mills in Bhavnagar-Gujarat. This prompted suppliers to increase their offers today.
