In April, Walsin Lihwa, Taiwan’s top stainless steel wire producer, hiked prices of 300 series stainless steel wire by NT$1,000/t ($31/t), while freezing 316L reserve charge. Prices of 200 series and 400 series stainless steel wire were also frozen. The move was attributed to rising raw material costs, including LME nickel, and increased industrial electricity rates.
