Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang increased by INR 300/t d-o-d on 2 Apr’24, as per BigMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 34,500/t exy. Semi-finished steel prices increased by INR 500/t in the region along with active buying inquiries for scrap by the Bhavnagar-based IF steel mills which prompted suppliers to improve their offers today.
