China, the world’s largest iron ore consumer, recorded iron ore production at 175.86 mnt in the first two months of 2024, an increase of 14.4% y-o-y, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics. Increased crude steel output as well as expected demand recovery post Lunar New Year holidays and restocking demand supported high iron ore production.
