Chinese rebar export offers yesterday have incremented by USD 5/MT against last week. Today, prices are floating to USD 250-260/MT for January deliveries.
Major reasons cited for increase in prices are seasonal holiday, low supply and increment in domestic rebar prices due to restocking. Market participants say exporters are not keen to buy as the nation is yet to decide the China’s export rebate for chromium added steel products as many countries imposed ban on China’s steel export.
| Particular | Size | Price (USD/MT) | W-o-W |
| China’s Rebar FoB Main Port | 16-32 mm (Chromium added) |
255-260 | 3-8 |
| China’s Domestic Rebar | 16-25 mm | 280-290 | 10 |
