Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market inched up by INR 200/t ($2.40/t) d-o-d on 20 Mar’24, as per BigMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 34,000/t ($409/t) exy. Moderate trade activities for semi-finished steel were observed in the late hours of yesterday’s trading session in the region. Additionally, decent buying inquiries for scrap by the Bhavnagar-based IF steel mills prompted suppliers to improve their offers today.
