BigMint’s index for domestic steel scrap (end-cutting) in Mandi Gobindgarh recorded a drop of INR 500/t on 18 March, 2024, reaching INR 36,400/t on a delivered-at-plant (DAP) basis.
Sponge iron prices in India continued to decrease further, with prices dropping by INR 50-200/t d-o-d in major regions. About 16,780 t of sponge iron deals were recorded in the country on 18 March compared to 14,675 t on 14 March.
