Sluggish demand continues to prevail in Indian Anthracite coal market.
In addition, import offers have remained stable at USD 89-90/MT, CFR India.
A trader said that he did not foresee any improvement in demand in the coming days.
As a consequence of weak demand, import has also refrained from any upswing. During Dec’15, only three importers had imported a cumulative quantity of 54,800 MT Anthracite coal; till the 3rd week of the month, according to SteelMint Research.
During the 1st eight months of the current fiscal, total import into the country (upto Nov’15) stood at 376,900 MT. Import remains low for most of the months, except in Apr’15 and Nov’15.
