The World Steel Association (worldsteel) reported that crude steel production for the 71 countries has inched down by 1.6% y-o-y to 148.1 mnt in Jan’24. Moreover, the same increased by 9% m-o-m against 135.7 mnt in Dec’23.
- China’s output fell by 6.9% y-o-y to 77.2 mnt.
- India’s production rose by 7.3% y-o-y to 12.5 mnt.
- Japan’s production inched up by 0.6% y-o-y to 7.3 mnt.
