Anthracite coal import offers have remained stable amid sluggish market atmosphere.
Import offers have stagnated at USD 89-90/MT, CFR India.
In context to market environment, a trader in east India said that demand continued to remain low.
However, import had improved last month and importers were mostly metallurgical companies. In Nov’15, 81,950 MT of Anthracite coal was imported into the country. Notably, the volume was the 2ndhighest during the 1st eight months of the current fiscal. And, interestingly, only 8,500 MT was imported during Oct’15.
Low demand also indicates that imports are unlikely to go up remarkably this month. It is to be noted that today, INR is valued at 67.07 against USD.
