Taiwan’s scrap imports stood at 257,311 t in Jan’24, up by 11% as against 231,736 t a month ago. Similarly, on a y-o-y basis, scrap imports surged by 34% against 191,654 t reported in Jan’23. The majority of imports in Jan’24 came from the US at 113,777 t, followed by Japan and the Dominican Republic at 58,466 t and 16,378 t, respectively.
