Manganese ore exports fall sharply in January’24
- Brazil’s manganese ore exports declined by 74% m-o-m in January 2024 to 41,773 tonnes (t) from 162,433 t in December 2023.
- The major importing countries were Uruguay (16,475 t) and India (11,159 t).
- Meanwhile, exports fell y-o-y in January to 41,773 t as against 162,230 t in January 2023.
Silico manganese exports decline
- Silico manganese exports by Brazil decreased by 33% m-o-m in January to 2,732 t as against 4,094 t in December.
- Argentina (1,134 t) remained the key importer.
- Exports dropped to 2,732 t in January compared to 3,904 t in January 2023.
Ferro silicon exports drop
- Brazil’s ferro silicon exports declined by 37% on the month in January to 12,559 t as against 20,005 t in December.
- Japan (5,428 t) and South Africa (2,323 t) were the prominent importers.
- Meanwhile, exports dropped 10% y-o-y in January to 12,559 t from 13,974 t in January 2023.
