Manganese alloys imports stable y-o-y in CY’23
- Manganese alloys imports in Turkiye remained largely stable with a slight fall by 2% y-o-y to 318,176 t in calendar year 2023 (CY’23) as compared to 325,233 t in CY’22.
- Turkiye was one of the most prominent importers of silico manganese, importing 227,970 t in CY’23, 2% less than in CY’22.
- Silico manganese exports to Turkey were dominated by India (83,505 t) and Ukraine (52,628 t) in CY23.
- Meanwhile, ferro manganese imports in the country decreased 5% y-o-y to 90,206 t in CY’23 as against 94,508 t in CY’22.
- India(49,060 t) and Norway(20,064 t) remained as the major exporters of ferro manganese in CY’23.
Chrome Ore exports up 8% y-o-y in CY’23
- Turkiye exported 1,464,921 t chrome ore in CY’23, increased by 8% y-o-y as against 1,362,197 t in CY’22.
- Major importing countries were China at 1,124,465 t and Sweden at 227,434 t in CY’23.
- Meanwhile, exports improved m-o-m in December 2023, rose by 20% to 130,106 t against 108,613 t in November 2023.
