- South Africa’s iron ore exports edged up by 2% y-o-y to 59.49 mnt in CY’23 (Jan-Dec’23) as against 58.46 mnt in the year-ago period, as per Customs data.
- China was the largest importer with 32.86 mnt followed by the Netherlands with 8.73 mnt.
- However, export volumes fell by 3% m-o-m to 5.44 mnt in Dec’23 from 5.59 mnt in Nov’23.
