- Iron ore (including pellets) imports into Japan inched down by 2% y-o-y to 102.2 mnt in CY’23 (Jan-Dec’23) as against 104.2 mnt in the year-ago period, as per Customs data.
- Australia was the largest exporter with 57.36 mnt followed by Brazil with 31.59 mnt.
- However, import volumes rose by 15% m-o-m to 8.87 mnt in Dec’23 from 7.74 mnt in Nov’23.
