Iron ore exports from Brazil were recorded at 28 MnT in Nov’15. The figure is down by 17.9% compared to that of Oct’15. In Oct’15, Brazil exported 34.14 MnT iron ore.
However, in Nov’15, exports are up by 7.9% Y-o-Y, and stood at 28 MnT in Nov’15 against 25.95 MnT in Nov’14.
Brazil exported 327.2 MnT iron ore in the time span of Jan’15-Nov’15 (up by 5% Y-o-Y). Last year the country exported 311.9 MnT iron ore in the same time period.
Brazillian mining giant Vale has recently cut its iron ore production guidance. Vale SA, has cut its production guidance by around 10% for 2016. The world’s largest miner now expects to mine between 340-350 MnT iron ore in 2016 against its previous forecast of 376 MnT.
