Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market decreased by INR 300/t d-o-d on 1 Feb’24, as per BigMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 34,200/t exy. Limited buying enquiries for semi-finished steel in the last trading session, prompted scrap suppliers to reduce their offers today. However, disparity between bids and offers was also seen.
