Inner Mongolia’s coal production reached 1.21 bnt in CY’23, a 0.2% increase y-o-y, contributing over one-fourth of China’s total coal output. The region supplied 945 mnt to coal-fired power plants, comprising 36% of the national term contract supplies. Inner Mongolia has optimized production with 92% of mines having annual capacities exceeding 1.2 mnt, achieving nearly 100% underground mechanization.
