The World Steel Association (worldsteel) reported that crude steel production for the 71 countries is down by 5.3% y-o-y to 135.7 mnt in Dec’23. Moreover, the same is down by 7% m-o-m against 145.5 mnt in Nov’23.
- China’s output fell by 14.9% y-o-y to 67.4 mnt.
- India’s production rose by 9.5% y-o-y to 12.1 mnt.
- Japan’s production inched up by 1.1% y-o-y to 7.0 mnt.
