JSL Seeks Anti-Dumping Duty on CR Stainless Steel

As reported Jindal Steel has filed a petition with Indian government to impose anti-dumping duty on import of cold rolled flat stainless steel products from China, European Union (EU) and eight other countries.

The petition has been filed for cold rolled flat products of width more than 1,250 mm. The duty is requested on imports from China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, South Africa, Taiwan, the EU and the US.

Last month anti-dumping duty of 57.39% was imposed by DG of Anti-dumping on cold rolled flat stainless steel products of width 600 mm to 1,250 mm. The duty was imposed on products from China, Korea, EU and other four countries for tenure of five years.

However after this importers started buying and slitting CRC of width more than 1,250 mm for the use of lower width which led to circumvention of anti-dumping duty on products of lower width (600 mm to 1,250 mm).
