The coal ministry has decided to auction another 8 coal blocks this time in 4th round to non-regulated sectors.
Post auction of 34 coal blocks in different schedules, now the Indian government is ready to auction another 8 coal blocks to non-regulated entities such as steel, cement and captive power plants. All 8 coal blocks embarked for coming schedule are ready to produce. The ministry has directed the nominated authority to conduct 4th block auction, which is expected to resume till Jan’16.
All these mines have a total reserve of 1,143.42 MnT and annual production is estimated at 12.9 MnT. All coal blocks for upcoming auction are located at Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bengal and Maharashtra.
However, Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) regarding block auction will be issued by the ministry today on 20 Nov’15.
Important dates for auction
• The commencement of sale for tender document will start from today on 20 Nov’15.
• Due date for submission of bids is 31 Dec’15.
• The e-auctions for these mines will be held from 18 Jan’16 to 22 Jan’16
• Vesting order by the nominated authority to successful bidder shall be issued by 10 Mar’16.
