Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), India’s largest steelmaker, is offering 42,000 MT steel grade Pig iron at INR 15,900/MT, ex-Rourkela till 23 Nov’15.
The company has also offered additional discount of upto INR 700/MT on bulk purchase of upto 10,000 MT. Previous to this open offer, the company had auctioned about 6,000 MT material and sold it at INR 16,700/MT, ex-plant.

Other Indian primary manufacturers
Neelachal Ispat Nigam, one of the largest Pig iron manufacturers in India, has recently reduced domestic offers for Pig iron by INR 500/MT. The company is offering N1 grade (Si content below 1.24%) Pig iron at INR 15,900/MT and N2 grade (Si content 1.25-2.25%) at INR 16,200MT, ex-Cuttack with discount of INR 600-700/MT on purchase of bulk quantity.
Similarly, another primary plant namely VIzag Steel (also know as RINL) has kept their base price for Pig iron unchanged at INR 17,000/MT, ex-Vizag and offering discount of upto INR 2,000 MT on purchase of huge quantity.
