Anthracite coal market continues to remain sluggish in India.
Prices, as a result, have not undergone any change from that prevailed last week.
According to an importer, offers have remained stable at around USD 87-88/MT, CFR India. In a similar trend, the domestic market prices also remained at the same level of INR 6,500/MT, according to a trader.
As a result of weak demand, imports have fallen considerably. SteelMint data shows that during Oct’15, imports were recorded at 85,000 MT, which is the lowest in the1st seven months of the current fiscal.
Market players were uncertain on the timeline for revival of demand. Few, however, expected that some improvement might be expected in next month.
