China was the world's largest Pig Iron producer in October 2012 with a total contribution of 59% at 54 million metric ton (mmt), a rise of 6% in comparison to October 2011.
World's Pig Iron output stood at 91.4 mmt in total for October 2012 at an increase of 2.15% as compared to September 2012 and also on a y-o-y basis.
During the months of July and August, Pig Iron production had come down across the globe.
In January to October 2012, world's Pig Iron output grew by 1.55% to 927.3 mmt in comparison to January to October 2011.
