Ukraine: Pig Iron is being offered by $5/MT low in comparison to that of scrap prices to Turkey based buyers.
A couple of deals were closed at $390/MT CFR Aliaga and Marmara for 6,000 and 10,000 tons respectively. Sales to Aliaga was made with a freight of $20/MT from Mariupol.
One of the Pig Iron producers sold to a trader for shipment to Italy at $406/MT CFR Marghera ($381/MT FOB Black Sea) before offers were reduced.
CIS: Export prices for Pig Iron slipped in the range of $365-375/MT FOB from Mariupol Black Sea.
Turkey: Pig Iron is being used by flat-rolled as well as the long steelmakers which is purchased at a premium to scrap by the former and when scrap is quoted at high prices by the later one.
Italy: Users of Pig Iron were heard asking for a shipment of 40,000 tons during the end of last week to exporters based in the Black Sea region.
US: A couple of Pig Iron cargoes at $403-405/MT were booked by US takers from suppliers in Brazil and it was heard that another deal might have closed at higher price.
Far East: Though, Pig Iron prices witnessed an upward trend but did not sustain for a long time. A trader has quoted Pig Iron in the range of $400-405/MT CFR equal to that of what South East Asian suppliers are offering at.
