SCCL Peaks its Coal Production in FY16

SCCL, one of the largest coal producers in the country has produced 33% more coal compared to FY15 in this fiscal.

The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has achieved its highest ever coal production target in this year and succeeded to produce about 25.2 MnT of coal up to 17 Sept’15 since Apr’15 against the 18.88 MnT during the same period of FY15.

During this fiscal, the company has supplied about 26.35 MnT coal to domestic consumers up to 17 Sept’15 as against 22.85 MnT during the corresponding period of FY15.

The company has also supplied about 21.46 MnT of coal to the power sector compared to 16.61 MnT in the last financial year. Under the FTA with consumers, the company has graded up to produce 60 MnT of coal in FY16 to fulfill the need of power sector. All the power companies also agreed to take all coal produced by the company as per the agreement.

All power plants linked with SCCL are maintaining an average of 30 days coal stock again for the first time in the history of SCCL.
