After the completion of third round of coal block auction in Aug’15, Centre will offer 8 more coal mines for auction to fulfill coal supply to other sectors craving for the fuel.
Coal Secretary, Anil Swarup in Minerals and Metal Conference this Wednesday, indicated that coal ministry is likely present a proposal to offer 8 other more coal blocks for auction to other sectors. This step of ministry will definitely provide relief to coal starving projects. Although nothing is finalized yet but according to sources, plan will be executed anytime soon.
It should be noted that centre had already put 42 coal blocks in prior auction namely schedule II & III. However, 10 out of the total blocks were exempted from auction on the ground of pending lawsuits and low response of participants. Where as 32 blocks were auctioned and allotted to participants.
