Pellet prices across India remain stable this week.
Eastern India: In Barbil, prices continue to remain the same at last week’s levels. Prices for Fe 63% pellets are hovering in the range of INR 4,300-4,400/MT (loaded to wagons). Arya Iron and Steel, is offering Fe 63% Pellets at INR 4,300/MT (Loaded to Wagons, Barbil, Odisha), where as Jindal Steel and Power offers are hovering at INR 4,400/MT (loaded to wagons).
Pellet prices in Durgapur continue to remain stable and are in the range of INR 4,700-5,000/MT (basic) for Fe 63% pellets.
Demand continues to remain weak over falling prices of Pellet Sponge. P-DRI prices have fallen by INR 500/MT W-o-W in eastern India.
Market is speculating price cut by Odisha based miners next month. However with District Mineral Foundation (DMF) likely to be implemented in September, which will increase cost of production, miners are slightly hesitant.
Central India: Raipur based pellet makers are offering Fe 63% pellets around INR 5,800/MT (basic). Market sources mentioned that pellets from Odisha are seen making way to Raipur market which has slightly impacted the sales of Pellets in Central India.
Southern and Western India: Prices in Bellary also remain at similar levels. Fe 62% pellets are at INR 5,200/MT (basic). In western part of the country Jindal Saw is offering Fe 63/62 Pellets at INR 5,600-5,700/MT delivered Kandla port.
