Billet prices have witnessed an upward movement in Chennai and manufacturers in other cities are offering the semi finished material at more or less same prices that were quoted in the last week.
“Prices of Billet are standing at Rs 36,000/MT (Including ED only), which was quoted at Rs 35,500/MT earlier.
Power supply for industrial purposes is around 40% only at the moment and cost of power is quite high.
Producers of Billet are running plants at around 50% only due to high cost of production. In the days ahead, there are fewer chances of price fall”, said manufacturers.
