The Indian Coal Ministry is moving ahead for third round of block auction. It has decided to auction 10 leftover coal blocks for steel, cement and captive power plant in the next round.
The third round of Coal Block auction is likely to start on 8, June’15 with 10 leftover coal blocks from previous rounds. The ministry has issued instructions to the nominated authority to conduct the auction of 10 mines with extractable reserves of 356 MnT, reserved for iron & steel, cement & captive power plant sector.
Third Round Block Auction Schedule
- The auction process will start from 8, June’15 with sector wise block’s classification; also, it will introduce bid document for various blocks on the same day.
- The government will invite technical and financial bids, the last date of document submission is on 21, Jul’15.
- The e-auctions for these mines will be held during 11-17 Aug ‘15.
