Prices of spot thermal coal reaching to India have remained
firm following the holiday season and less trading activities seen in the
market with the beginning of 2013.
Currently the price for 6000 NAR (FOB Richards Bay) is at
$87/MT with slight increase of $1/MT from the previous price, however Grade of
3800 GAR (FOB Indonesia) stands firm at $33/MT.
Freight charges for capesize vessel stand at $12/MT, whereas
supramax vessel attracts a charge of $11/MT from Indonesia to East Coast of India.
With the price drop of nearly 5.5% of iron Ore lumps by NMDC
market participants are in a wait and watch condition expecting a slight decline
in prices of coal in the near future.
