After starting the year with a spurt in production during the first month FY16, Coal India missed the production target by 2% and off-take target by 4% in May’15.
Coal India produced about 40.97 MnT of coal in May’15, missing the production target by about 2%. The set production target for the month was 41.78 MnT. It suffered downfall in production by about 1.3% M-o-M basis. However, it registered a growth of about 13% in production during May’14.
Coal Production by Subsidiary Companies
CCL emerged out as star performer among the eight subsidiaries of Coal India by meeting its production target by 108%. NEC missed production target by 65%. SECL produced highest quantity of coal among all, although, it missed production target by 4%.
Coal Off-Take for May’15
Along with production target, Coal India also missed it off-take target by 4%.
