India: Ferro silicon imports up 20% m-o-m in Jan’23

• India’s ferro silicon imports stood at 20,667t in Jan’23, registering a significant increase of 20% m-o-m compared to 17,165 t in Dec’22, as per customs data.
• The major exporters were Bhutan (11,669 t), China (4,533 t), Russia (2,510 t) and Malasiya (794 t).
• On a y-o-y basis, import volumes rose by 12% compared to 18,398 t in Jan’22.

Note: This is a correction article as India’s ferro silicon import volumes from Bhutan in Jan’23 have been rectified to 11,667 t which was earlier mentioned as 41,639 t.
